
Haseltine Primary is a school in partnership with Fairlawn Primary school. Staff, governors and children work together to harness each other’s strengths and expertise so that children are offered the best possible education.
At Haseltine they aim to create a happy school where the learning atmosphere is relaxed and conducive to high attainment. They believe that every child should learn the skills for life long learning and be supported to develop as good citizens who contribute fully to their community. For the children to reach their full potential they need to work in partnership with their parents, carers and colleagues. Helping children to do their best is vital and Haseltine will work in partnership with everyone so that they all understand what children are learning and are able to achieve.
The Challenge
Haseltine were a failing school and struggling to attract children and parents to the school. A complete rebrand was required starting with the logo. Create a fresh, modern identity that children and adults would remember and feel part of. The school needed an identity that everyone could relate to and develop the brand that can be used on a variety of digital and print projects.
The Solution
Working on the concept of education and ‘As wise as an owl’, Pylon created a logo incorporating an illustrative owl sitting on the school name. This unique and friendly image required a soft, rounded, modern font to compliment the style of the owl. The combination of the two elements worked perfectly together to create a memorable logo that everyone remembers and now refer to as the ‘Owl school’. The flexibility of the owl illustration has resulted in it being the main focal point of the brand.
