Pathways is a not-for-profit organisation working to help communities and individuals through the provision of housing, grant funding, and youth and community projects.
Pathways is extremely proud of its long history in providing affordable accommodation, predominantly for older people, and assistance to local people and communities that dates back to several centuries ago. They are very proud of their rich heritage but they are also a forward thinking organisation that is eager to adapt to the needs of their beneficiaries in changing times. Over the last few years Pathways has expanded on a large scale, allowing them to help people in need from communities across Greater London and the surrounding areas to find safe, secure, affordable and well maintained sheltered accommodation in their older age.
The Challenge
Pathways required a Christmas Newsletter to be sent out to their clients informing them of Christmas closures and relevant numbers to contact over the Festive period. There were also interesting articles and news items as well as upcoming dates to put into their diaries. Pathways changed the size of the newsletter from previous A4 sizes to a 4pp A5 format. With less space to fit all the information in, the client still required an interesting and informative solution that used images to create impact. Pylon Design were approached to tackle this challenging brief.
The Solution
Pylon Design incorporated graphic elements used within the Pathways website, also designed by Pylon Design, to enhance and develop the theme and brand over the whole organisation. Pylon Design sourced an image which depicted Christmas but also the core of their business – Housing. Inside the newsletter, the corporate colours and typefaces were utilised to create a clean, readable document that enticed the onlooker to read more. The resulting newsletter was attractive and informative relaying information in a clear and concise manner whilst creating an impactful and appropriate solution.
