Project Description

Training Points is a small independent Fitness & Therapy Studio created in 2007, when Taylor Battery &Mathilde Theill qualified as Personal Trainers & Sports Massage Therapist. They started out in Sydenham, where they trained clients at their little studio, in the parks and in the gym.

In January 2009, they opened their first official Fitness Studio in Crystal Palace, where they built their business for the coming 6 years. The key to their dream studio landed in their hands on May 2014, they moved into Coopers Yard, within the Crystal Palace Triangle.

Training Points studio is a welcoming, safe, warm and positive space for anyone who visits. They pride themselves in giving their clients apersonal fitness experience. Class numbers are small compared to commercial gyms but they have a lovely sense of community that their clients appreciate and have become part of creating. The studio is staffed with a vast range of Natural Therapists, Personal Trainers, Pilates & Yoga Teachers.

The Challenge

Pylon Design were commissioned to inform the general public that the Training Points studio was re-opening after the relaxation of the Covid restrictions as businesses return to some kind of normality. The position of the studio and it’s facilities, is situated at the bottom of a small, quiet hill, which is impossible to see from the main road. No signs were allowed to be fixed to buildings, so a sandwich board, padlocked to railings was the best solution to inform the general public that this delightful, personal fitness studio is now open.

The Solution

Pylon Design suggested Training Points utilise both sides of the sandwich board with two very different concepts but with the same message. Incorporating the strong vibrant corporate colours and simple typography to attract the attention of the general public, Pylon created two posters that caught the eye in terms of the message and their identity. One poster was a graphic solution using images of gym equipment while the second poster used a photograph of the owners outside the studio with open arms. Coupled with other posters and literature designed and produced by Pylon Design, this fitness studio is a thriving local business that is continuing to grow in the Crystal Palace area.
