The Microblading Expert is a new small business venture working with the latest durable cosmetics, known as Semi-Permanent Cosmetics, Permanent Make-up, Derma Graphics or Cosmetic Tattooing. It is a cutting edge aesthetic treatment for men and women which employs the latest techniques to achieve lasting colour or definition. Semi-permanent make-up means no extra make-up in your handbag, no smudging or running, and an immaculate finish come rain or shine.

Microblading is a semi-permanent tattooing technique that creates hairlike strokes to fill in sparse or thinning brows. The practice aims to give you an effortless full brow – no need for expensive brow pencils or gels. Cosmetic tattooing, unlike body art tattooing, is much more superficial to the skin, the inks are also much more degradable. Your own immune system will digest the ink and also push out the pigment as well. Over time these looks tend to fade, lasting for one to three years depending on your skin and lifestyle. Microblading does require touchups yearly or bi-yearly, but you won’t be stuck forever with eyebrows that you don’t like, if you are not happy with them.

The Challenge

This cutting edge and relatively new treatment gave Pylon Design a blank canvas to create a unique logo and brand. The identity had to reflect the subject matter but also look expensive, elegant, modern and professional. The logo must also be flexible enough to develop a brand that meets all the market needs.

The Solution

Pylon Design used dots to replicate the idea of a tattooing technique and used this as a holding frame for the name of the company. A mix of classic sans serif type and a handwritten font combined to create an elegant combination, while a sophisticated and modern copper colour added an expensive appearance. To add further interest, Pylon Design placed the logo on a dark charcoal textured square background that hi-lighted the sharpness of the typography. The two elements worked in perfect harmony resulting in a unique, elegant and modern solution that hit the right target audience for The Microblading Expert.
