Sally’s Hairdressers, one of the first children’s hairdressers to open in London, was established 10 years ago and has since grown to be a key part of the Northcote Road community in Battersea, SW London. 28 years of cutting children’s hair, she has honed her hairdressing skills and can provide an excellent cut for children of all ages, from baby’s first haircut to those in their late teens.
Announcing to the public that the salon was now open again and endorsing the message that washing your hands was a requirement on entering the building, was the main brief for the project. It was also important to follow Government Guidelines to ensure every precaution is taken to protect customers from the Covid virus.
Aimed primarily at parents rather than the children, Pylon Design chose a mixture of rectangular and circular solutions to portray the message. The material used was a static, plastic material that clung to the inside of the windows without need for glue or tape. Pylon Design used Sally’s corporate brand to create a strong, colourful, solution, that was consistent with other material produced within the salon. As well as informing the public of the re-opening, the stickers also endorsed the Government Guidelines to respect the safety of others by following the salon’s rules they had set in place.
