IQRA Primary School, based in South East London, aims to provide children with a broad and balanced curriculum, whilst inculcating the values of the Qur’an and Sunnah. They believe that every human being should be given dignity which others should respect and enhance. They aim to provide equality of educational opportunity in their school for all children in accordance with their individual needs. They value the contributions of all members of the local community, recognising that education is a partnership in which everyone has an important part to play.
The frustration of being unable to add content creatively and the limited extent of what the school could achieve in keeping the site current and interesting, prompted the school to look at the alternatives. As well as the content, the look and feel of the site did not reflect the vibrancy and Ofsted’s Outstanding Award of the great work IQRA were promoting.
IQRA wanted to move to a platform where their single new site would respond appropriately to a wide range of screen sizes, raising parental engagement. The school also wanted to implement changes to the site themselves and add new content in the form of news, letters, galleries and relevant information to help both staff and parents.
IQRA Primary School now embrace and manage a mobile-responsive school website that they have full control of content creation. News content is simultaneously and automatically posted to Facebook. Year group pages automatically pull in relevant year group categorised content from elsewhere on the site, making them an important landing page for existing parents.
By incorporating the school’s identity, introducing a series of new school characters, colours and corporate typefaces as a streamed web font, Pylon Design have designed and developed an exciting, responsive, informative, content-managed, friendly and colourful website that reflects their school and allows them to keep the site current.
