In Loving Memory are a new small business offering bespoke Order of Service Funeral Booklets.

It’s not easy when we lose someone special and, at this time of grief, making arrangements can be difficult. In Loving Memory provide a unique service, advising and creating a beautiful Order of Service Funeral Booklet that is both personal and a fitting tribute to our loved ones that you will want to keep and treasure as a beautiful lasting memento.

The Challenge

Funerals are never easy occasions to attend or to organise. Pylon Design were asked to design and produce a bespoke, beautiful Order of Service Funeral Booklet to represent the recently deceased and encourage a range of emotions from the reader – to smile, laugh, cry and create interesting talking points about their life.

Unlike many funerals around this time, the family and friends were able to celebrate the life of Ben together as the Covid restrictions were lifted. The bespoke booklet had to reflect the exciting life of Ben who was a great cricket fan following England around the world on many tours and was also a part owner of a number of race horses.

The Solution

Ben had lived a wonderful life full of his hobbies and interests that took him around the world and Pylon Design and In Loving Memory wanted to incorporate these memories in a memorable booklet that showcased his talents and his love of life.

Ben’s varied interests included, sport, particularly cricket, where he played to a good standard in his younger years and later as a fan following England on tours around the world as well as being a proud member of the MCC. His love of sport didn’t stop there as he became owner of seven race horses and followed their progress around the country. Ben was a colourful character and loved to go out and enjoy life to the full and Pylon Design wanted to embrace this and give people a real sense of his zest for life.

The use of a large close-up of Ben’s face in black and white, on the front cover, immediately gave an impression of his exciting, funny and interesting character. Photographs, interspersed with the order of service, were used in chronological order to give a sense of moving through Ben’s life which included all his sports interests and his loving family. The final booklet was full of mementos and special memories including tickets from some of Ben’s trips abroad to watch the England cricket team all of which fully represented his eccentric, interesting and loving life.
