The Challenge
GSE Skips had been using their old logo for over 20 years and although it had served them well, the direction the company wanted to follow required a new look and brand. The skip business is not visually glamorous but the brief was to make it approachable to everyone regardless of age, sex and ethnicity while retaining a professional approach. Their competitors had all stolen a march on GSE Skips and their requirement was to put them back to where they belong. GSE Skips had a name change to incorporate their recycling aspirations and this needed to be included within the new logo. As well as creating a modern, professional logo, GSE Skips wanted to get across a friendly and helpful organisation that reflected their family run business of nearly 100 years.
The Solution
Incorporating the new name – GSE Skips & Recycling Ltd – Pylon Design prepared a new logo which included an illustration with the initials of the logo displayed on the face of the skip. Dynamic typography, bright engaging colours and a clever use of the environmental symbol resulted in a modern, forward thinking, professional, friendly, approachable logo that had no hidden messages but displayed exactly who they are and what they do. This simple but effective logo is adaptable on all media and is unique amongst it’s many competitors, standing out as a strong and positive identity.
