Haseltine Primary is a school in partnership with Fairlawn Primary school. Staff, governors and children work together to harness each other’s strengths and expertise so that children are offered the best possible education.
At Haseltine they aim to create a happy school where the learning atmosphere is relaxed and conducive to high attainment. They believe that every child should learn the skills for life long learning and be supported to develop as good citizens who contribute fully to their community. For the children to reach their full potential they need to work in partnership with their parents, carers and colleagues. Helping children to do their best is vital and working in partnerships allows Haseltine to understand what children are learning and what they are able to achieve.
The Haseltine Hub was created for parents and young children to enjoy tea and coffee while dropping off their older children at the school. Parents are encouraged to chat with other parents, teachers and relax in a calm environment. The Hub required a bespoke rug large enough for very young children to sit on and babies crawl on. It had to pass all the health & Safety conditions and be colourful, interesting and visually stimulating for the young children.
The original Haseltine Hub identity was created by Pylon Design based on the main corporate identity. Pylon expanded on the identity using the corporate colours and style of illustration and introducing new cake and coffee images to reflect the cafe theme. The rug was made in a hard-wearing material with a non-curl backing that prevented any edges to curl up and create a hazard for both children and adults. The solution was a fun rug that is colourful, interesting and a great addition for the young children.
